James completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at Monash University and holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Leo Cussen. He has broad experience practicing in Family, Criminal and Civil matters.
Prior to working at Melbourne Lawyers & Mediators, James volunteered at Springvale Monash Legal Service. During this time, he appeared on behalf of clients at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court and developed a passion for advocacy. He has also instructed in complex County Court drug trafficking proceedings. James completed a major in criminology and understands the importance of a robust defence and the fair treatment of the accused.
When interacting with clients in family law parenting and property matters, James utilises his strong interpersonal skills. During his study, James worked in Early Childhood Education and is proficient at communicating with children and parents. Through this experience he has gained a thorough understanding of children’s developmental needs, which proves extremely useful in parenting matters.
In addition, his ability to advocate in the best interests of our clients is demonstrated through being awarded the County Court Prize for Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. James enjoys the opportunity to formulate practical and creative solutions to achieve brilliant outcomes for clients.
